the band takes a moment for a champagne toast (and a hot pretzel) under the Tree
at Rockefeller Center.  Ed thanked the band for consistently performing as the 
talented and hot group of professional musicians he's known them to be,
AND for helping him make his dreams of great Big Band come true.

     Welcome to the Official Website of Edward deCorsia and New York’s Most Dangerous Big Band! Thank you for taking the time to visit with us.
     Born of the love of Big Band jazz, producer and trombone player, Edward deCorsia, began searching for an ensemble of local musicians who would be as at home playing “In the Mood” as they would Latin Rocking a pop tune by Santana. He set out to find and network with all of the best reading musicians he could collect for this musical undertaking. During the search, he called upon musicians and friends who had played together as far back as 1974 for a road band that performed at Expo (The World’s Fair) in Montreal, Canada. Some of the original players were as young as 16, some were in their seventies!

     After assembling the first group of musicians, Ed realized that many of the band’s twenty members (thirteen horns and a sizzling electric rhythm section!) were active and retired Police Officers. Thus the name…
New York’s Most Dangerous Big Band was born.

     Going into its eleventh year as a working Big Band, NYMDBB has performed  concerts, weddings, benefits, corporate and private parties, as well as sponsoring their own Dinner/Dances. 

     Most recently, the band finds itself preparing for the summer concert season and recording tracks for two new albums at EKO Studios. Between concerts they’ve been performing at social events and are sponsoring several Dinner/Dances of their own at Shandon Court Restaurant and Catering in East Islip.
