Plain and Simple. An ensemble of 20 performers often needs substitutes to cover an occasional member of the band who has scheduling conflicts. All of the current members of this ensemble started as a substitute player and worked their way to a steady chair. The member's ages have included players from 15 to 75 years old.

We are currently auditioning players and understudys for...

* Keyboards player...
Prefer a classically trained player who likes Rock, Latin, Swing, Jazz and Funk as well as classical. This band has arrangements from Mussorgsky to Manilow to Maynard. You must sight read well, must read Grand Staff, Guitar Tab, and written chords well. Perform (on his own equipment) the following synth voicings...Clavinet, Hammond B-3, Grand Piano, Fender Rhodes 88 Electric Piano, and one or two other common synth voicings. Volume pedal and wahwah pedals a must.

* Lead Trumpet players...
We are auditioning trumpet players who can play a five hour lead trumpet book at a performance with tone, projection, ease of range, finesse and 8 demonstrable shades of volume.

* Percussion player...
Must have his/her
own instruments (Congas and timbales a must) who can read percussion parts well. Singing a plus. Electronic Percussion or drum machines a plus.

*Singers who can sight read music excellently and can play keyboards or guitar.

*Saxophone players who can play two and three saxes, clarinet, and flute and 8 demonstrable shades of volume.

*Trombone players who can play with great tonality, intonation and 8 demonstrable shades of volume.

*Guitar players who can read Grand Staff, written chords, and guitar tab.

*Bass players who can read Grand Staff, written chords, and guitar tab.

*Road/Sound-Techs (Roadies) who understand live and recorded sound.
